just back from an enriching camp which is the youth fellowship camp 2008. first warning, this post may get very wordy as pictures are not with me yet. didnt take many pictures though. mostly group photos.
home sweet home and i saw the christmas tree being put up, luggages that are waiting to be packed with out clothes for the shanghai trip & a new clock.
really enjoyed the time spent together with the secondary 4 students. LOL! once again, we're back together. it's our last year participating in the youth fellowship camp already. was so reluctant to part after the camp. i really love every single one of them in my group. going from hans (vice-leader), gideon (director), wen kai (always teases me), ji xiang (english born chinese), shi fu (our master), jing kang (the guy who sits like a duck), ying shan & wan rong. most importantly, wei ling and ai luan teacher!! our group name is john calvin. BIG THANK YOU TO ALL FOR BEING SO COOPERATIVE AND PARTICIPATIVE!! campsite is at BB headquarters which was very near to great world city.
1st day:
settled down, check out my dormitory and introduction of every members in the group. ice breaker games, thought of a group cheer for station games, some simple station games in the dark then ZZZ. jin yee and jia ying didn't sleep for almost the whole night as they find the sleeping environment dusty & dirty but its otherwise for me. i felt so tired i didn't even care. lol
2nd day:
had problem waking up as my biological clock to wake up is set at 9+,10. everybody got more enthusiastic all thanks to gideon. had a sermon and i've learnt things more in depth. our group was in charged of the praise and worship session. as usual, i did the sharing part. shared about my o levels period. was kinda scary. i should say that this day was the most tiring one as there were two sections of games. 1 was in the afternoon organised by the 1723 fellowship. improved our team spirit as well as unity in the group which was GREAT! everybody were anticipating the treasure hunt at night (murderer game) . we were given a map and clues to guess where the certain location is and were supposed to find that place and then look for a blue-coloured paper for our next clue. my determination of winning the game made me walk for a long distant. the compound given to us were kind of big. from tiong bahru all the way to the start of orchard. somewhere near hilton hotel. got the first place wrong which caused everyone to back trek. so sorry everybody. but they didn't blame me. =) thanks all for being so understanding. didn't manage to finish finding all the places but got to the end point in time. had macdonalds supper at tiong bahru plaza. nice nice. =) but we sat outside on a staircase to eat as there were no more spaces in macs. SAD! but we still had fun as long as it's JIA ER WEN!! went back and faint on the bed. ZZZ.
3rd day:
morning exercise by wang ming dao group. wen jie treated us like as though we were in NS. T.T but haha. he was funny. he really resembles wang ming dao. looked forward to the part 2 of murderer game. it was like the real life of cluedo.
of course we met up with certain obstacles on the road. anyway, must really thank qi heng for helping me out with locating the places as he was most familiar with tiong bahru. XD was really of great help. THANKS! walked far distant too. but not too far. the compound was smaller. =)=)=) managed to find all. supposed to solve a mystery and find the murderer, the victim, motive etc. racked our brains just to find the answer. but still, our answers were wrong. LOL! but nevermind.
WE GOT IN FIRST FOR THE MTV PERFORMANCE!! WOOHOO!! thanks to gideon, the director. the plot of the story was from teacher. haha. and then the additions were made by everyone. especially gideon. all those funny parts.
then sharing session by everyone. how we felt about the camp and every thing that we wanted to say. but i skipped a bit as i was feeling a bit nauseous. smsed ernest and he called me back. thanks so much for your accompaniment. other wise, i would be alone.
and i found out something about hans! lol! was kinda shocked at first but yea. everybody wanted to stay the night initially but all the teachers chased us to sleep and everybody were fatigued so plan failed. but played asshole dai di with the secondary 4s. haha. we were all so paranoid. so afraid that we get caught red handed. so we played the silent game. to accompany jin yee as she lost her voice. so we all whispered instead of talking normally. although she lost her voice, she was still as active as ever. all the leaders were present so if marks were deducted, all the groups will be affected. =X
we're always the last ones to bath so that we can take our own sweet time and not wait for the others to finish bathing. chatted, gossiped. found out that the secondary 3 guys were GREAT gossipers. laughed non stop. met up with the secondary 4s afterwards and talked a lot. had fun! had cup noodles for supper. yum yum! was knocked off once i got onto the bed. T.T
last day:
woke up slightly later. all the teachers too. so they woke us up at a much later time. our group was in charge of the breakfast. i did the prayer. sort of prepared for it. packed up, help out the teachers in cleaning up the place and moving the things. took a few pictures and zoomed back to church.
did some work there. everybody were given a job to do. to help out the church. felt a sense of achievement. but i felt so lethargic at that point of time. don't know why. my eyelids were so heavy! closing ceremony was next. the mystery case was solved, the first 3 winning groups were announced. we were shocked. didn't expect that we would win. =X
took many photos with JIA ER WEN group & the secondary 4s!! namely jia ying, jin yee, yong liang, joshua, wen jie, li cheng, john & bo wei. went to west mall for lunch. couldn't decide on what to eat so we flip coins. decided to seperate. jin yee and his brother went to subway while the rest went to KFC. highly requested by li cheng. chat again, ate, played current lastly, basketball. unloaded our stuffs at jin yee's house first as it was weighing me down! so heavy and bulky.
i must admit that i'm a noob at basket ball. but had fun! blasted our music. sang together. talked. jin yee tried her best to communicate with us. =) really enjoyed spending time with them. all of them decided to stay at the chinese congregation. was glad to know that. =) we'll be friends forever! haha. took 173 home. washed every thing thoroughly. i've lost the feeling of sleepiness. ZZ i think i'll sleep like a log tonight.
my teeth looks straighter and straighter each day. hopefully can take it out by the next visit!
